The scroll wheel went from 24 step to 16 step, much better for gaming, They finally moved to GLORIOUS OMRON SWITCHES and the complaints about shell stiffness and click latency were fully addressed, not to mention the firmware was actually tested by the engineers and they lowered the click latency to fantastic levels.

The ZA series had just had a Revision 2 to refine the mouse based on customer feedback! (Black scroll wheel, red logo = new)
Razer deathadder 2013 cheapest upgrade#
It just wasn't comfortable at it's size, but it was the perfect time to upgrade and try out the ZA12. I use the ever popular half claw/low claw grip, palming the mouse but clawing my fingers. The switches and shell were better, less mushy side buttons, no annoying light, and oh yes, the shape was WAY nicer in reality than the EC1-A. It was only 85g, with so little inertia to counter, aiming in shooters was WAY more raw, I was one with the mouse. So in search of the lightest possible mouse, I got the ZA13, the weight was godlike. I knew at this point Zowie was a brand with the right ideas, but that was the wrong mouse.

I cannot stress enough the reduction in weight being the best upgrade here. It was great fun! I broke it! Back to the drawing board. So I took it apart and upgraded the switches and modified the side buttons and removed the LED.

Plus the LED was blinding and you can't turn it off. The most suprising thing was the reduction in weight, WOW what a boon for shooters! But the mushy side buttons were so awful, something was just off, maybe it was me, but even though it was a better shape I didn't like the shape. Then it goes to sh.it and you look for a replacement, but you're already used to it.Īfter A LOT of searching, comparing measurements, weights, sensors, looking at click latency charts, talking about shell resistance, switch types, liftoff distance, tracking surfaces, etc etc etc. Razer's what you buy when you're just starting out and don't know not to buy Razer I did the same thing as you a few years ago. The best thing I can really suggest though is to go to a local computer shop and have a feel of the mice they have available, everyone is different, having said that though, by doing what I suggested, I ended up going with a Roccat Kone XTD (although it's not a cheap mouse) It's been fantastic - it's taken abuse from LoL, it's sensitivity is perfect and it's weight is great (you can also adjust the weight of it, it comes with 4 5g weights you can insert into the mouse).ĭimensions of it are Width 75mm, Height 40mm, Length 130mm, Weight 120g I've generally preferred a larger mouse myself, and I had a similar dilemma, I had a Sidewinder X5 mouse which was fantastic with it's side button arrangement and overall size of the mouse so when that died I had difficulty deciding on a mouse I liked. (My palm is roughly 11cm and my longest finger is 9cm) Thank you.Ģ0cm palms?!? Are you bigfoot? Or do you mean, 20cm from the base of your palm to the tip of your finger? (Palms of the hands are the central region of the front of the hand, so, from the wrist to the bottom of the fingers. Would love any input, especially from previous Deathadder owners. While watching more reviews, Zowie tend to be more stiffer on clicks (Huano switches), which is good for FPS gaming, but a drawback for Dota2 and moba games, where players tend to spam clicks. My main games: KF2, Dota2, CS:GO(casual ranked). My hand might welcome it and I do love heavy mouse, I just wish it was more simple. While I was excited about G502 at launch, I am not sure about design (same with G402), features and all those many buttons I might misclick. G402 have unique design I am not sure about, but have decent size and weight. I think I can get used to smaller weight with lower sensitivity. Zowie EC1-A have similar design and size of Deathadder, but lacks weight.

Previous mouse I was comfortable with (Deathadder : 127mm x 70mm : 105g).

Build quality seemed solid, but left click just got worse and worse, and I can't tell if I pressed it or not. What I liked about Deathadder 2013, natural feeling at hand and minimum design features, no useless buttons. I prefer heavier mouse, but I might as well change my habit and get medium weight and lower sensitivity for higher precision. My hand size is around 20cm, looking for medium/large size. Left button on Deathadder 2013 got completely numb and I am looking forward to replace it.
